How to choose a website developer in Delhi NCR: 10 questions to ask
A checklist for business owners in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Greater Noida hiring a web design company, with the questions that separate good agencies from the rest.
Search "website developer in Greater Noida" and you get fifty agencies, all promising "100% satisfaction" and "10+ years of experience". None of that helps you choose. These ten questions will.
1. Can I see three sites you built that are still live?
Not a portfolio page with screenshots. Live URLs. Open them on your phone. If they are slow, broken, or look nothing like the screenshots, you have your answer.
2. Who owns the domain, the hosting account and the code?
The answer must be: you. Some agencies register the domain in their own name so you cannot leave. Ask for the domain to be in your Google or GoDaddy account from day one.
3. What is the page speed score of your last three sites?
Run them through PageSpeed Insights. Anything under 70 on mobile means the agency is not paying attention to performance, and Google will not rank the site well.
4. Who writes the content?
If the answer is "you send us the text", budget time for it or ask for copywriting as a line item. The words on the page are what Google ranks. Design alone does not bring traffic.
5. What exactly is included in "SEO"?
"SEO-friendly" means nothing. Ask for specifics: title tags, meta descriptions, schema markup, a sitemap, Google Business Profile setup, Search Console. If they cannot list these, they are not doing SEO.
6. What happens after launch?
Who fixes a bug in month three? Is there a support window? What does a small change cost? Get it in writing.
7. Is the quote fixed-price?
Hourly billing on a website build is a red flag for a small business. You should get a fixed price for a written scope, with a clear list of what counts as extra.
8. Can it take enquiries on WhatsApp?
In NCR, most customers will not fill a form. They will tap a WhatsApp button. Make sure the site has one on every page, with a pre-filled message so you know which page they came from.
9. Will I be able to edit it myself?
For a blog or a menu, you should be able to change text without calling the developer. For a brochure site, it matters less. Decide which you need.
10. What is the plan for getting visitors?
A website is a shop with no signboard until people find it. A good agency will talk about local search, Google Business Profile, city pages and reviews before you ask.
